Two actors remain entirely immobile. Their degree of concentration and their struggle to remain focused are monitored by EEG sensors, activating the solenoid motors which “perform” on the instruments; while their facial expressions are displayed on a wide screen. Created by multimedia artist Samson Young for two performers with EEG sensors, woodblocks and snare drums, this intriguing amalgam of computer technology and visual and musical installation explores the art of mind-triggering....a fascinating experience for both the artists and the audiences.

Chou Wenchung has been long esteemed as the founder of the contemporary Chinese musical idiom, due to his pioneering efforts and innovative integration of Chinese-Western musical traditions. His works have been described as deeply rooted in the Chinese literati tradition. His four protégées, Bright Sheng, Zhou Long, Chen Yi and Tan Dun, share similar backgrounds and each has blossomed into highly individualistic composer, owing to their experiences living in different parts of rural China during the Cultural Revolution.
